Objective

To review the different parts of speech and understand their roles in English language.

Materials

Procedure

  1. Divide the class into groups of four or five.
  2. Give each group a printed list of parts of speech.
  3. Explain to the class that they will be going on a scavenger hunt to find examples of different parts of speech in their environment.
  4. The students will be given 20-25 minutes to walk around the school and find examples of the parts of speech listed on their sheet and write them down on their paper.
  5. Review the list of parts of speech with the class and make sure everyone understands each one.
  6. Afterward, the class will come back together and share their findings. They can also discuss why they chose each example to make sure everyone understands the importance of each part of speech in a sentence.

By giving a fun and interactive activity, students will be more engaged and excited about reviewing grammar. The activity also provides an opportunity for the students to get out of their seats and move around, which can be helpful for those who have difficulty sitting still.
