Welcome, parents, to this meeting to discuss the education and care of our special educational needs (SEN) child in our preschool program. Our goal is to discuss the child's progress, identify areas of concern, and talk about how we can work together to support your child's development.
We will start the meeting by giving a brief overview of the child's needs. We will discuss the child's diagnosis, any accommodations that the child requires, and their individualized education plan (IEP). We will address any questions or concerns that parents may have regarding the child's needs.
Next, we will provide parents with a progress report regarding the child's development. We will cover areas such as social skills, speech and language development, motor skills, and cognitive development. We will discuss any areas of strengths and weaknesses and any improvements we have seen in the child's development.
We will share any observations that we have made regarding the child's behavior, interactions with peers and adults, and overall engagement in the classroom. We will also address any behavior concerns that have arisen and talk about strategies that we have implemented to address those behaviors.
We will discuss any additional support that the child may require, such as speech or occupational therapy. We will also talk about how any support services are being administered, how frequently, and what parents can expect.
Lastly, we will discuss communication between school and home. We will establish how we can work together to support the child's development. We will also establish the best way to communicate with parents about the child's progress and any areas of concern.
