Overview
In this 30-minute lesson, we will begin to introduce the concept of school to preschool students. We will discuss what school is and what they can expect when they start attending school.

Lesson Content
Introduction (5 minutes)
- Greet students warmly and introduce the topic of school
- Ask students if they know what school is
- Explain that school is a place where children go to learn new things
Discussion (10 minutes)
- Use a visual aid such as a picture book to introduce common places and activities in a classroom
- Point out the different areas, such as the reading corner, the art table, and the circle time area
- Ask students to name different items they see in the classroom and what they think they are used for
Interactive Activity (10 minutes)
- Set up a pretend classroom using play furniture, books, and other materials
- Encourage students to explore the classroom and interact with the different objects
- Model appropriate classroom behavior, such as sitting in a chair and using a pencil
Conclusion (5 minutes)
- Ask students how they feel about attending school
- Address any questions or concerns they may have
- Remind students that school is a fun and exciting place to learn new things
Assessment
Assessment during this lesson will be informal. Teacher observations will be used to gauge understanding and student engagement.
