Introduction (5 minutes)

Key Elements of a Story (5 minutes)
Write the following headings on the board: character, setting, plot/theme, conflict, and resolution.
Ask the students what each heading means and have them provide examples.
Explain that these elements are important in developing a strong story.
Structure of a Story (5 minutes)
Write the following headings on the board: introduction, rising action, climax, falling action, and conclusion.
Explain that these headings represent the basic structure of a story.
Have the students provide examples of each heading.
Writing a Short Story (15 minutes)
Pass out paper and pencils to each student.
Explain that they will be writing a short story using the key elements and structure discussed in class.
Encourage them to be creative and have fun with their stories.
Allow time for them to write and offer guidance as needed.
Conclusion (5 minutes)
Have the students share their stories with the class.
Recap the key elements and structure of a story.
Thank the students for their participation and remind them to continue reading and writing stories.
