Get ready to have some fun with math and animals! Who loves animals? Raise your hand if you do! Today we are going to learn how to count animals and do some fun math activities with them.
Let's start by singing the "Old MacDonald" song. We will count the number of animals in the song and also try to make the sounds of each animal.
Now, let's count some animals. We have some animal cards with different numbers of animals on them. We will show the cards to the students and ask them to count the animals on the card. We will then correlate the total number of animals with the number on the card.
Next, we will do a sorting activity with animal pictures. We will provide the students with a bunch of animal pictures and ask them to sort them into two groups: animals with fur and animals without fur.
We will use animal stickers to form different shapes and patterns. We will ask the students to notice the patterns and shapes they see and try to make their own.
At the end of the lesson, we will review what we learned about counting, sorting, shapes, and patterns using animals. Also, we will encourage the students to tell us which animal they liked the most and why. We will then provide them with some animal coloring sheets to take home.
