Objective

To review and reinforce the recognition and pronunciation of Spanish syllables in a fun and interactive way.

Introduction

¡Hola! Today, we are going to play a game to help us practice our Spanish syllables. Do you know what syllables are?

Syllables are the sounds that make up words. Just like how we clap our hands to the beat of a song, we can break down words into syllables. For example, the word "gato" has two syllables: ga-to.

Game: "Pasa la Bolita" (Pass the Ball)

  1. Have all the students sit in a circle.
  2. Give a small ball to one student.
  3. The student with the ball says a syllable out loud and passes the ball to the student sitting next to them.
  4. The next student says another syllable and passes the ball to the next student, and so on.
  5. If a student says a syllable incorrectly or drops the ball, they are out and must sit out the rest of the game.
  6. The last student standing is the winner!

Conclusion

¡Felicitaciones! You have all done a great job practicing your Spanish syllables through playing "Pasa la Bolita". Remember to keep practicing and listening for syllables all around you! ¡Adiós!
