Welcome to today’s session on finding your purpose! Before we delve into the topic, let’s take a moment to reflect on what purpose means to each of us.
To kick off our lesson, we will engage in an activity called the Purpose Palette. This exercise aims to stimulate your thoughts and feelings about purpose while encouraging creative expression.
Gather Materials: You will need a few sheets of paper, colored markers or pens, and if you have access, some magazines for collage making.
Settle In: Create a comfortable space around you where you can work without distractions. Take a deep breath, and let your mind relax.
Reflection Prompt: Think about what brings you joy, fulfilment, and a sense of contribution. Consider questions like:
Create Your Palette: On a blank sheet of paper, draw or jot down a 'palette' of your thoughts. Use colours, words, images, and symbols that resonate with your reflections. If you prefer a collage, cut out images and words from magazines that represent your purpose.
Share Your Creation: Once completed, pair up with someone nearby and share what you’ve created and the thoughts behind it. Discuss how your ideas relate to your sense of purpose.
Group Reflection: After the pair discussions, we’ll gather together to share insights. What themes emerged? Were there any surprises in your findings?
This creative exercise not only helps you explore your personal passions and values, but it also lays the groundwork for more in-depth discussions on how to identify and pursue your purpose effectively.
By the end of today’s lesson, we will collectively dive deeper into strategies for finding your purpose, and I encourage you to keep your Purpose Palette close as we continue this journey together.
