To kick off our lesson on Food Groups, we are going to dive into a fun and interactive icebreaker activity called the Food Group Mystery Box!
Gather in Groups: Organise the class into small groups of 4-5 students.
Mystery Box Reveal: Present the Mystery Box to the class without revealing what's inside. Explain that it contains various food items that belong to different food groups.
Guess the Group: Each group will take turns picking one item from the box without looking. After selecting, they will have one minute to discuss and decide which food group they think their item belongs to and why.
