Discussion Questions for Year 5 English: Reading
Question 1: Character Analysis
What are the key traits of your favourite character in the book we've read?
Think about their actions, words, and feelings. How do these traits influence the story? Are there any moments in the book that show significant changes in the character? Share an example.
Question 2: Theme Exploration
What theme do you think is most important in our recent reading?
Identify at least one message or idea the author is trying to convey through the story. Do you think this theme is relevant to your own life or the world around you? Explain your thoughts with an example from the text.
Question 3: Predicting Outcomes
If you could change the ending of the story we read, how would you do it?
Consider how your changes would affect the characters and the overall message of the book. What new events would occur? Discuss how you would feel about the characters after this new ending compared to the original.
