Welcome, Year 5 students, to our first English lesson of the summer term! As you all know, summer is the season for long sunny days, ice cream cones and beach trips. It's a time to relax, unwind and have fun with family and friends.
Today, we will be discussing how we spent our summer holidays. Let's take turns and share with the class what we did during the summer break. Did you travel to a new place? Did you visit family or friends? Did you attend summer camp?
I'll start. Last summer, I visited my grandparents in Hawaii. It was amazing! I got to swim with turtles, learn how to surf, and eat delicious Hawaiian cuisine. What about you? Who would like to share their summer experiences?
As you can see, summer holidays can be a lot of fun and filled with new experiences. In today's lesson, we will use our summer holidays as inspiration to improve our English language skills. We will discuss the activities we enjoyed and practice our descriptive writing skills by using adjectives to describe our favorite summer memories. Let's get started!
