Welcome, young explorers! Today, we’re going to blast off into the cosmos and embark on an exciting adventure through our very own solar system. But before we hop on our spaceship, let's warm up our imaginations with a fun activity!
Gather Around: Let's circle up! I want each of you to think about what your favorite planet is and why. It could be anything from the rings of Saturn to the storms on Jupiter.
Decorate the Cosmic Box: As a class, we’ll decorate our Cosmic Box to represent our solar system. You can draw or write fun facts about each planet on colorful paper, and together we’ll tape them inside the box.
Planet Fact Cards: After decorating, each of you will receive a piece of paper. Write down one exciting fact about your favorite planet! You can also illustrate it if you like!
Filling the Box: Once you’re done, we’ll place your cards inside our Cosmic Box. This box will be our treasure trove of solar system knowledge!
After our Cosmic Box is complete, we’ll take turns pulling a fact from the box to share. This will not only help us learn about each planet but also set the stage for our lesson on the solar system today!
Today, we will explore the eight planets in our solar system, their unique characteristics, and the role of the sun. Get ready to travel from the scorching surface of Mercury to the icy rings of Neptune!
On the count of three, let's shout, "Blast off!" and begin our exploration of the magical world beyond our blue planet!
Let’s get started! 🚀
