Activity: The Water Cycle in a Bag

Materials Needed:

• A clear sandwich bag
• Water
• A few blue food colouring drops (optional)
• A permanent marker
• A sunny window

Steps:

1. Fill the Bag: Carefully pour a small amount of water into the sandwich bag. If you want to make it more fun, add a drop or two of blue food colouring!
2. Seal It Up: Zip the bag closed very tight.
3. Draw It Out: Use the permanent marker to draw the sun, clouds, and ocean on the bag to represent Wanda’s journey.
4. Hang It Up!: Tape your bag to a sunny window and watch what happens over the next few days!

What to Look For:

As you observe the bag, you will see little droplets forming on the inside of the bag. This is condensation! Just like Wanda, water can travel and change forms. How cool is that?
