Today, we are going to explore the exciting world of patterns and lines in art! By the end of the lesson, you will create your very own pattern artwork filled with colourful lines.
Gather around, little artists! Today, we are going on a magical adventure through the Land of Patterns and Lines! Can anyone tell me what a pattern is? (Pause for responses)
Let me share a quick story that will help us understand patterns and lines better:
The Magic Garden
Once upon a time, in a beautiful garden filled with colours, there lived a friendly snake named Snappy. Snappy loved making friends, but he was always sad because he thought he was all alone. One day, as he slithered through the garden, he found something shiny and colourful on the ground.
“Aha!” he said, “These are magical stones! Just like me, they have lines and patterns. I’ll use them to find friends!”
Snappy carefully arranged the stones in rows and circles, creating colourful patterns. Suddenly, all the other animals in the garden—like Daisy the rabbit and Benny the bird—noticed the patterns and came to see. They loved the shining stones, and they all played together, creating even more wonderful patterns with leaves, flowers, and twigs!
What do you think Snappy learned in the end? (Encourage responses. Guide them to think about friendship, line, and patterns).
Just like Snappy and his friends, we are going to create our very own art masterpiece using patterns and lines! We will find our materials and make a beautiful piece that shows our creativity and unique patterns.
You all did amazing today! Remember, just like Snappy learned that lines and patterns can bring friends together, your beautiful art pieces can make everyone smile. Keep noticing patterns and lines around you, and who knows what magical adventures await!
Let’s go on! Grab your materials and let’s make our patterns sparkle! ✨
