Lesson Outline
Introduction (5 minutes)

- Discussion on Colors: Ask students to name their favorite colors and any colors they see in the classroom. Use a color wheel to visually discuss primary and secondary colors.
Direct Instruction (10 minutes)
- Explain Primary Colors: Introduce the primary colors (red, blue, yellow) and explain that these colors cannot be made by mixing others.
- Introduce Secondary Colors: Show how mixing primary colors creates secondary colors:
- Red + Yellow = Orange
- Blue + Yellow = Green
- Red + Blue = Purple
- Demonstration: Use the paint on the mixing tray to demonstrate how to mix the colors properly while encouraging students to observe.
Guided Practice (10 minutes)
- Mixing Activity:
- Divide the students into small groups.
- Provide each group with the primary color paints and mixing trays.
- Guide the students to mix their own secondary colors and discuss what they observe.
- Encourage Exploration: Allow students to experiment by mixing different proportions of colors and discovering new shades.
Independent Activity (5 minutes)
- Painting Time:
- Provide students with white paper and ask them to create an artwork using the colors they have mixed.
- Encourage them to use their imagination and express how they feel about each color.
Closure (5 minutes)
- Group Sharing: Invite students to share their artwork with the class.
- Ask questions such as, “What colors did you mix?” and “What do you like about your painting?”
- Recap the Lesson: Reinforce the lesson by summarizing the primary and secondary colors, and ask students to think about how they see colors in everyday life.
