Lesson Introduction: Exploring Information Reports

Welcome to Our Adventure!

G'day, kiddos! 👋 Today, we're going to embark on an exciting journey into the world of information reports! Who's ready to become a fact-finding treasure hunter? 🏴‍☠️💎

What Is an Information Report?

Imagine you discovered a magical creature in your backyard. 🦄 How would you tell your friends all about it? You’d want to share facts—like what it eats, where it lives, and what makes it special, right? That's exactly what an information report does! It helps us share important details about a person, place, animal, or event.

Fun Activity: The Great Facts Hunt! 🔍

Before we dive deeper into our lesson, let’s warm up our brains with a fun activity called the Great Facts Hunt!

  1. Fact Cards: I have some fact cards hidden around the classroom. They have interesting information about animals!
  2. Find and Share:
    • You will have 5 minutes to find as many cards as you can.
    • Once you've found a card, come back to your spot and get ready to share the facts you discovered with a partner.

Why Are We Doing This?

By sharing what we find on our cards, we start to think about how we can write our own information reports! So, keep your eyes open, your brains buzzing, and your sharing voices ready. Let’s go on a facts hunt, and then we'll talk about how to turn those facts into a wonderful report!

Time to get searching! 🌟
