Welcome to our exciting lesson on Phonics! Today, we are going to embark on a magical adventure through the world of letters and sounds. Are you ready, little explorers?
Once upon a time in Letterland, all the letters of the alphabet were having a grand party. The A's and B's were dancing, the C's and D's were playing games, and the E's and F's were singing joyful songs. They wanted to invite us to join in their fun, but first, we must learn their special sounds!
Let's pretend we're in Letterland. Listen closely! When I say, “A,” what sound do you hear? (Pause for responses) That's right! It's /æ/ like in "apple"!
Now, let’s try some more! When I say “B,” we hear /b/ as in "ball." Can you make the sound with me?
Now, gather around! We will take a small journey through Letterland. Each time we meet a new letter, let’s say its sound and jump like we’re having fun at the party!
After our journey through Letterland, let’s grab our crayons and paper. We will draw our favourite letter and something that begins with that sound. For example, for “A” we can draw an apple! What will you choose?
Remember, every time you write or read, you're connecting with the magical world of letters. Keep your ears open for the sounds of Letterland, and soon you’ll be able to invite more friends to the party—by reading and spelling!
Before we finish today, can anyone tell me what sound the letter “D” makes?
Thank you for joining me on this phonics adventure! Are you ready for more fun in our next lesson?
Let's make every session an exciting journey into the world of sounds and letters! 🌈
