West Zone Cross Country for Students Aged 8-12

We are excited to announce that the West Zone Cross Country event will take place on Thursday, August 7th. This year, there is a postponement date set for Friday, August 8th, in case of unfavorable weather conditions. We encourage all students aged 8-12 to participate in this fantastic event that promotes both fitness and camaraderie. This year, we are asking for parent volunteers to help out on the track to ensure a smooth and safe experience for all participants. Your assistance will be invaluable, and we appreciate your willingness to support our young athletes!

Junior Fun Run for 4-7 Year Olds

On Thursday, August 14th, we will host the Junior Fun Run, specifically designed for our youngest students aged 4-7. This event aims to instill a love for running and active participation in sports from an early age. To create an enjoyable and safe environment for our young runners, we will need support from parents and whānau. Whether it's helping to guide the runners or cheering them on, your involvement is crucial for making this day a success. Let's come together to celebrate our tamariki and their efforts in this fun and energetic event!

Whanaungatanga Day

Mark your calendars for Whanaungatanga Day on Friday, August 29th! Our friends from Herekino and Waiharaha will join us as we dedicate the day to refining our ki-o-rahi skills while also preparing for the Athletics Day scheduled in Term 4. This collaborative effort emphasizes the importance of community connection and skill-sharing among students and teachers. It’s a wonderful opportunity for all kaiako and akonga to engage in team activities, strengthen relationships, and promote sportsmanship. We look forward to a day filled with learning, fun, and growth!

Friendly Chess Challenge

We are thrilled to announce a Friendly Chess Challenge that will take place between our Room 4 akonga and the whānau at Te Kura o Waiharara. While the exact date is yet to be confirmed, our tamariki have already begun their training to ensure they are well-prepared for the competition. This initiative not only promotes critical thinking and strategy skills but also fosters a sense of community engagement through friendly rivalry. We encourage all participants to sharpen their skills and embrace the spirit of this exciting event!

School Uniform Reminder

As the school year progresses, we want to remind everyone that wearing the school uniform is essential. Our school polo shirts have now become compulsory, and students are expected to wear them every day. This policy helps foster a sense of unity among students and sets a standard for our school environment. Don’t forget that students are also required to wear their Kidscan school jackets when needed. We appreciate your cooperation in maintaining our school's positive image and ensuring that our students adhere to these guidelines.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community! As we move forward, let’s stay engaged, promote healthy lifestyles, and keep encouraging our students to aim high.
