Welcome to Our Class!

🌟 Let's Set Our Class Expectations! 🌟

Hello, wonderful second graders! Today, we’re going to have some fun and important conversations about our class expectations. These are the special rules and ideas that will help us learn and play together every day.

👫 Teamwork Begins

To kick off our lesson, let’s start with a quick group activity!

  1. Circle Time: Everyone sits in a circle on the carpet.
  2. Pass the Emoji Ball: We have a soft emoji ball! When you catch it, share one word that describes how you’d like our classroom to feel. For example: "Kind," "Happy," or "Safe."
  3. Collect Ideas: As each student shares, write down their words on a big piece of paper. This will be our “Feelings Chart.”

🎨 Create Our Visuals

After we finish passing the ball, we will create a colorful poster together!

📖 Story Time

To wrap things up, we’ll read a short story about a classroom where everyone follows the expectations and helps each other. You will see how it makes learning even more fun!

Homework Fun!

When you get home, ask a family member to share one class expectation they had when they were in school. Write down their answer and bring it to our next class!

By the end of today’s lesson, we’ll have not only created our expectations together but also made sure everyone gets a say in how our second-grade adventure will go. Are you ready? Let’s get started! 🎉
