Welcome to Our Reading Adventure!

🎈 Introduction: The Sound Safari! 🎈

Hello, friends! Today, we are going on a special adventure called the Sound Safari! Are you ready? We'll explore the world of sounds and learn how to decode these sounds into words! Our focus will be on CVC words, which are words made up of a Consonant, a Vowel, and another Consonant.

🌟 What’s a CVC Word? 🌟

A CVC word looks like this: cat, dog, and bed. First, we’ll hunt for the sounds in these words, and then we'll put them together to read them!

🐾 The Sound Hunt: Let’s Listen! 🐾

Before we dive into reading, let's play a game called the Sound Hunt!

  1. Look: Look around the classroom and find objects that start with different sounds!
  2. Listen: I will say a sound, and you will listen carefully to find something that matches that sound.
    • For example, if I say "buh," can you find something that starts with that sound? (Encourage students to find ball or book!)

🐶 Activity: Building CVC Words! 🐶

Now, let’s put our listening skills to the test! I will show you some pictures, and together we will sound out the words. Remember, every CVC word has three important sounds:

🎵 Sing with Sounds! 🎵

To help us remember how to blend these sounds, let’s sing a fun song about CVC words!

(To the tune of “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star”)

Sound it out, let's give it a try,
CVC words, we can fly high.
Cat, bat, hat, let's say them loud,
Reading CVC makes us proud!
Sound it out, it’s really neat,
Now we’re ready to read and repeat!

📚 Get Ready to Read! 📚

Are you excited? Let’s gather our materials and get ready to read some CVC words together! Remember, decoding is just like unlocking a treasure chest full of words!

Let’s start our reading adventure now! 🚀
