Think about this: If you could fill your backpack with anything in the whole wide world, what would you put in it? Would you choose magical books that take you to different places? A fluffy, friendly dog that helps you read? Or maybe a giant talking pencil that gives you the coolest ideas?
Now, take a moment to draw your magical backpack and everything inside it. Once you're finished, we’ll have a little sharing session where you can tell us about your backpack and the magical items it holds.
As we share our creations, think about how books are like magical backpacks. They can take us on adventures, teach us new things, and even help us make new friends!
After we are done sharing, we’ll pick our first story of the year! Get ready to open your books and see where our reading adventure takes us!
