Objective:
Today, we’re going to take a magical journey into the wonderful world of nursing! We’ll learn about who nurses are, what they do, and how they help people feel better.
Materials Needed:
Gather the Students: Invite your students to sit in a circle on the carpet. Put the large bag in the center and tell them it’s a special “Nurse Bag” that belongs to a wonderful nurse.
Mystery Box Reveal: Ask the students to guess what might be inside the bag. Prompt their imaginations: “What do you think a nurse would carry to help people?”
Discover the Tools: One by one, take out the toy medical supplies from the bag, and ask the students if they know what each item is and how it helps in taking care of people:
Once all the tools have been revealed, gather the students closer and read the picture book about nurses. Use expressive voices and encourage the children to engage with the story by making sound effects or acting out parts they find interesting.
After the story, have a quick discussion. Ask questions like:
To finish up, give each student a piece of paper and crayons. Ask them to draw a nurse using the tools we discussed. Encourage creativity—maybe they can invent their own special tools!
Through this lesson, students will not only learn about nursing, but they will also use their imaginations and creativity, making the idea of caring for others feel exciting and important. Remember, nursing is all about helping people feel better, and every one of us can be a helper in our own way!
Let’s embark on this journey to explore and appreciate the wonderful world of nursing together!
