Welcome, young artists! Today, we are going on a colorful adventure exploring the vibrant color red. Isn’t it exciting? Red is the color of so many wonderful things around us! Get ready to use your imagination and creativity to discover all the things that are red.
To kick off our lesson, I have a magical red bag filled with surprises! I will pass the bag around the classroom, and each of you can take turns reaching inside to feel something special.
After feeling an object, you can guess what it is. If you can’t guess, that’s okay! You’ll get to see it soon. Once everyone has a turn, we will reveal what the objects are and talk about how they relate to the color red.
Here are some examples of objects that might be inside:
Now that we’ve explored our mystery bag, let’s get our bodies moving with a fun song about the color red!
(Sing to the tune of "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star")
Red, red, so bright and bold, It’s the color we adore! Like an apple or a heart, Red is where our fun will start! Red, red, so bright and bold, Let’s discover more of old!
Wonderful singing, everyone! Now that we are warmed up and excited about the color red, it’s time to create some art.
You will each create a vibrant red collage! Gather red paper, magazines, and other materials to cut and glue on your paper.
What a fabulous start to our day as we explored the color red through our mystery bag, singing, and creating collages! Remember, red is everywhere and can mean different things. Look for the color red as you go about your day, and be ready to share your findings next time!
Let’s have fun with colors, artists! 🎉
