Hello, young readers! Today, we are going on a magical adventure into the world of blends! Are you ready to explore sounds and words in a fun, exciting way?
To kick off our lesson, we’re going to take a special balloon ride high into the sky! Gather around as I show you our big colorful “Blend Balloon.”
Introduce the Blend Balloon: Hold up the big balloon cutout and show the children the vibrant colors. Explain that this balloon represents our adventure into learning new sounds called blends.
Show the Small Blends: Present the small paper blends one at a time. For each blend, say it out loud together and think of words that use that blend (e.g., “bl” for “blue” and “black”).
Decorate Together: Invite the children to help you decorate the Blend Balloon. Each time they come up with a word that starts with a blend, they can place that small cutout on the balloon.
As we add each blend to our balloon, we'll create a “magic blend balloon bouquet” filled with exciting sounds. This will be our guide as we read today!
Once our balloon is filled with blends, we'll watch it “float” into our storybook - where we will discover blends together as we read! So let’s hop on our Blend Balloon and soar into the wonderful world of reading!
This engaging introduction not only captures the children's attention but also actively involves them in the learning process, setting the stage for a fun and interactive lesson on blends in reading!
