The Magic Box

What You’ll Need

Before we begin, let’s gather our special materials:

A box (you can decorate it with stickers!)
Flashcards with letters A to Z
Some colorful crayons or markers
A big sheet of paper or a classroom whiteboard

Activity: Discover the Alphabet

Get Cozy: Find a comfy spot on the carpet and sit down. Let’s make sure everyone can see the magic box!
The Big Reveal: Open the box and pull out the flashcards one by one. Each card has a letter on it.
- A is for Apple 🍏
- B is for Ball ⚽
- C is for Cat 🐱
Ask the children to repeat the letters and the words after you!
Find Your Letter: After revealing each letter, invite friends to find an object in the classroom that starts with that letter!
- “Who can find something that starts with the letter B?”
Draw and Share: Now, it’s your turn to create! Grab your crayons and draw something that starts with your favorite letter.
- Once everyone is done, invite them to share with the class what they've drawn.
