- Markers, colored pencils, or crayons
- Sticky notes in various colors
- A timer (optional)
Instructions
-
Introduction (5 minutes):
- Begin with a brief welcome and explain that today's lesson will explore the Christian worldview and how it shapes beliefs, values, and actions.
- Pose the question: “What is a worldview?” Allow a couple of students to share their initial thoughts.
-
Mosaic Activity (15 minutes):
- Distribute sticky notes to each student (one colour per student).
- Ask students to think of one belief, value, or experience that significantly influences their understanding of the world.
- They should write their thought on a sticky note and place it on the poster paper in a designated “Worldview Mosaic” area.
- Encourage them to be creative in how they express their ideas. For example, they might use drawings, short phrases, or symbols.
-
Discussion (10 minutes):
- Once they have all added to the mosaic, ask the class to step back and observe the collective thoughts and beliefs represented on the poster.
- Facilitate a discussion on:
- How these different views reflect the diversity of human experience.
- The idea that everyone has a worldview, which affects their understanding of life, including their spiritual beliefs.
-
Transition to Lesson (5 minutes):
- Explain that today’s lesson will delve into how a Christian worldview differs from other perspectives and how it shapes everything from ethics and morality to the understanding of purpose and humanity.
- Highlight that the Christian worldview has a distinct narrative about creation, fall, redemption, and restoration, and we'll explore these fundamental tenets further.
Closing of the Introduction
Conclude by encouraging students to keep the mosaic in mind as they navigate through today’s topics, allowing for personal reflection on how the Christian worldview may interact with their own beliefs and perspectives throughout the lesson.
Final Note
