Bonjour les élèves! Today, we are going to embark on a magical journey through the world of French literature. But first, let’s set the stage for our adventure!
Materials Needed:
Preparation: Before class, fill the jar with the colourful pieces of paper, each containing a different word or phrase in French (e.g., "chat," "ciel," "jardin," "maison," "amis," "rouge").
The Challenge: When the lesson begins, introduce the jar to the students. Explain that each piece of paper holds a word or phrase that is crucial for a story we will read together later.
The Twist: Invite students to take turns picking a piece of paper from the jar. As they do, they must pronounce the word/phrase and use it in a simple sentence in French. Encourage them to be creative!
Collective Story Building: After everyone has had a chance to draw from the jar, divide the class into small groups. Each group will have the task of creating a short story using all the words/phrases they pulled from the jar. They can illustrate their stories and present them to the class.
By the end of the lesson, students will demonstrate improved reading comprehension skills and vocabulary usage in French, and they'll experience the joy of storytelling while working collaboratively.
This engaging introduction not only warms up the students for reading and comprehension but also reinforces their vocabulary in a fun and interactive way! Let's get ready to dive into our French adventure!
