Good morning, everyone! Today, we're going on a thrilling adventure! Have you ever imagined what it would be like to chase after a bear? Not just any bear, but a friendly bear who loves to play hide and seek! Are you ready for an exciting story?
Before we dive into our bear hunt story, let’s make sure we’re ready for our adventure. We need to be very quiet so we don’t scare the bear away. Everyone, shhh... (mime putting a finger over your lips). Can you all show me your best "quiet" face? That’s great!
Now, to kick off our lesson, I have a very special story for you. It’s called We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, by Michael Rosen. It’s full of exciting sounds, movements, and lots of fun! But before we read it, let’s create a magical atmosphere!
Sound Effects: As I read, let’s make sounds together! When we go through the grass, let’s swish like this (mimic swishing sounds with your hands). And when we wade through the water, let’s splash (jump and make splashing sounds)!
Movement: I’ll need your help to act out the story. When I say "go," let’s march as if we are on a bear hunt. Can everyone stand up? (Encourage children to stand and prepare for some movement.)
Before we begin the story, let’s create a bear hunt cheer! Repeat after me:
We’re going on a bear hunt,
We’re going to catch a big one!
What a beautiful day,
We’re not scared!
Try saying that a little louder!
Now that we’re all pumped up and ready, let’s find out what happens on the bear hunt. I’ll read the story aloud, and I want you to listen carefully for all the sounds and actions. Remember, we’ll join together for those exciting parts!
Let the adventure begin! 🎉
After the Reading:
When we finish the story, we can have a chat about our favourite parts, and maybe even draw our own bear hunt adventures!
Who’s excited? Let’s go! 🐻✨
