Lesson Plan: Cut and Paste the Missing Letters in the Alphabet

Objectives

Introduction (5 Minutes)
Welcome and Introduction
- Greet the students and gather them in a circle.
- Briefly explain the purpose of the lesson: "Today, we are going to help our friends the letters find their way back into the alphabet!"
- Show them the completed alphabet and ask if they can identify some letters they already know.
Direct Instruction (10 Minutes)
Introduction to the Alphabet
- Review each letter of the alphabet from A to Z with the class.
- Point to each letter as you say it, encouraging students to say it out loud together.
- Highlight a few letters that will be missing from the activity, such as "B", "D", and "G", and explain how they will help bring them back.
Demonstration
- Show the students the cut-out letters and pause to discuss how to use safety scissors to cut the letters out.
- Demonstrate how to use glue to paste the letters onto the blank paper in the correct sequence.
Guided Practice (10 Minutes)
Cut and Paste Activity
- Hand out the cut-out letters and worksheets to the students.
- Assist students as necessary while cutting out their letters.
- Encourage them to find the missing letters and paste them onto their worksheet in the correct spots.
- Walk around the classroom, providing support and encouragement.
Independent Practice (3 Minutes)
Finish and Share
- Allow students time to finish cutting and pasting their letters.
- After they complete the activity, ask a few volunteers to share their worksheets with the class.
- Encourage them to say the letters they’ve pasted.
Closure (2 Minutes)
