Lesson Introduction: Exploring Colours

Objective

Today, we will embark on a vibrant adventure to explore colours! By the end of the lesson, you'll be able to recognise and name various colours in English and even create some colourful art!

Attention Grabber: The Colour Hunt

  1. Visual Surprise: Begin the lesson by displaying a bright, colourful picture or poster of a rainbow. Make sure to use a large image that can be easily seen by all students.

  2. Engaging Question: Ask the students, "Can anyone tell me what colours they see in this rainbow?" Encourage them to raise their hands to share their answers. As they respond, write the colours on the board.

  3. Interactive Activity: Next, tell the students they are going to go on a Colour Hunt! Explain that you will call out a colour, and they will have to find an item in the classroom that matches that colour. For example, "Can anyone find something that is red?"

  4. Movement and Fun: Allow the students 1-2 minutes to search for the item. As they return, ask them to share what they found and why they chose that item.

Transition to the Lesson

After the Colour Hunt, gather the students together and say: "Wow! Look at all the beautiful colours in our classroom! Colours are all around us, and today we are going to learn how to talk about them in English. Are you ready to dive into the wonderful world of colours?"

This engaging introduction not only captures the students' attention but also encourages them to participate actively from the very start of the lesson!
