Today, we're going to take a special journey to a magical garden where our friends, the flowers, need our help! Are you ready to become math superheroes?
Once upon a time, in a beautiful garden filled with colorful flowers, lived a friendly butterfly named Bella. Bella loved to play among the flowers. One sunny day, she noticed that some flowers were missing! Oh no! Bella needs our help to find out how many flowers are left.
Here's how we can help Bella:
Count the Flowers: Before Bella starts her adventure, let’s count all the flowers in the garden together. Let’s say there were 5 bright flowers.
The Mischievous Wind: Suddenly, a playful wind blew through the garden and carried away 2 flowers! Can you make a sound like the wind? 🌬️
The Big Question: Bella wants to know how many flowers are left in the garden after the wind took some away.
Place the 5 flower cutouts in the basket.
Pretend the wind comes and takes away 2 flowers.
As a group, count how many flowers Bella has left.
After we find out how many flowers are left, we can cheer for Bella and the math magic we created! Every time we solve a subtraction, we help our garden grow!
Are you ready to dive into our magical garden and learn about subtraction? Let’s go, little math superheroes! 🦋
