Today, we are embarking on a fun and exciting treasure hunt for sight words!
Good morning, everyone! Today, we have a special adventure planned. We’ll be going on a treasure hunt to find some magical words, also known as sight words! These are words that we will learn to recognize quickly when we read.
But before we start our treasure hunt, let’s discover why these sight words are so important! When we know our sight words, we can read faster and understand stories better. Isn’t that cool?
Let’s make a treasure map together! On this map, we will draw pictures of different places where we might find sight words. Here’s what we need to do:
As we talk about each place, let’s draw it on our large paper. After each drawing, we’ll also brainstorm some sight words we might find there. For example, in the Garden of Sentences, we might find words like "and," "the," or "to."
Choose your favorite place from our treasure map! I’ll read a sentence or a short story that mentions some sight words. When you hear a sight word, give me a big thumbs up!
After we read the story, we're ready for our sought-after treasure hunt! I will hide cards around the room that have our sight words on them. When you find a card, raise your hand, and let’s shout the sight word together!
Let’s start our adventure and find those sight words! Are you ready? 🗺️✨
At the end of our adventure, we’ll gather around and share our favorite sight words and how we can use them in sentences. Let’s make reading a magical treasure hunt every day!
