Today, we will embark on an exciting journey to explore the wonderful world of numbers! By the end of this lesson, you'll be able to recognise, understand, and work with numbers up to 100.
To kick off our lesson, we’re going on a Magical Number Hunt! Picture this: Imagine you are a treasure hunter, and numbers are hidden treasures scattered all around our classroom. Each treasure has its own special value and story to tell!
Gathering Clues: Before we begin our hunt, let’s gather some clues! On the board, I will write down a list of fun questions that involve numbers. For example:
Finding the Treasures: With your treasure map (which I'll give you), you will explore different areas of the classroom to find numbered cards hidden under tables, behind books, and inside cupboard doors. Each card will have a different number (from 1 to 100) and a fun fact or question related to that number.
Sharing Your Finds: After the hunt, we will come together as a group and share some of the treasures we found! You can tell your friends about the number on your card and answer the question or share the fact related to it.
This fun and engaging activity will not only get you moving but will help you discover more about how numbers are all around us! After the hunt, we will dive deeper into how to use these numbers in math problems. Are you ready to become a treasure hunter? Let’s find those numbers!
